This is the house I
grew up in, at
1116 First Street N.E.
in Massillon.

This picture was taken
before the brown
shingles were put up.
"My City Was Gone"

We knew they
intended someday to
tear them down, but
we had no warning
just before it was done.

Google Earth still had
pictures of what it
used to look like from
above.
This was Christmas,
in the early 1960s.

born 1958
Here is an old
postcard from the
1950s.
This is the inside.
These pictures were
taken in the early
1960s.
Some family photos
include neighbor's
houses in the
background.

None of these houses
are there anymore.
They were all torn
down in late 2007.

Many buildings in the
area had been torn
down previously, over
the course of many
years.

I didn't know some of these people below, but I had their
pictures. The over-sized  picture could not be scanned
correctly, because it wouldn't fit onto the scanning bed. That's
why it is blurry. The scanners should be made so there is no
rim around the edge blocking large pictures.
